Daniel was what he was called
Born alone he laid broken and numb
Cursed by his bastard name
Innocent son, impossible game
But he grew til' he could steal
Then ran quick as a bird
Locals called him spirit
Legend spread by word
Daniel the thief watched of the stars
The plague to the rich
He howls at the moon
Scrawled cross the sky in the pale morning light
Glimmers of teardrops appear in his eyes
Hearing his signal the truth cries out
RUN TOWARDS THE LIGHT
It's better than dying
Daniel, never stop trying
King's fruit fed the poor ones when Daniel was a squire
And he could outrun the king's army like he could outrun a fire
So he waited, with his ignition primed to light
The champion of vertigo, the defender of what's right
Feet pound like thunder and tribute is paid
No signs of fear in his steel icy gaze
Finding his target his heart cries out
RUN TOWARDS THE LIGHT
Then came the quiet days, our hero caught and ashamed
Daniel's locked in prison, will he ever see the sun?
But the fire in his heart! Some still say it broke the bars
They'll never know how he got free but he was free as the stars!
Daniel the thief, hands full of gold
He tore through the city bringing gifts for the poor
Feet pounding pavement he tears through the town
Awe and amazement were felt by the crowd
Saving his strength now for one final
