Rise
03:55
|
|||
Rise and open up your eyes
You can always go for more
I see that you're driving
But is your pedal to the floor?
A rebel gets what he's begun
A butcher takes his cut
A hero lives by promises
And a thief lives by luck
Look out for the Vagabonds
They struggle with their fears
While the hard man stares at the begging man
With whiskey in his tears
Sometimes I wish that I could fly
With the sunlight on my face
To be soaring high with a star in your eye
You gotta Rise and Seize the Day
I'm not saying a zebra changes his stripes
A warrior will make war
The apple don't fall that far from the tree
But leaves blow to my door
When the Monarchy finally sets sail,
Know that time won't hesitate
So find another chance to dream,
Become the master of your fate
Look out for the Vagabonds
Unwind with the times
Free your mind from the grind
Mold your days like clay
It's fine with me if you stay
Rise and seize the day
Rise and seize the day
Pretend not to know all the cards that you hold
Look into your mind and find the love in your soul
Look out for the Vagabonds
Search high for Mr. Vagabond
I found him lyin' in the street
The end of the line was paradise
He told me everything
He said I believe that the world is round
The superstitious own the crown
And a single hope of a drop of rain
Is just to hit the ground
Look out for the Vagabonds
While the hard man stares at the begging man
With whiskey in his tears
Sometimes I wish that I could fly
With the sunlight on my face
To be soaring high with a star in your eye
You gotta Rise and Seize the Day

Daniel
05:39
|
|||
Daniel was what he was called
Born alone he laid broken and numb
Cursed by his bastard name
Innocent son, impossible game
But he grew til' he could steal
Then ran quick as a bird
Locals called him spirit
Legend spread by word
Daniel the thief watched of the stars
The plague to the rich
He howls at the moon
Scrawled cross the sky in the pale morning light
Glimmers of teardrops appear in his eyes
Hearing his signal the truth cries out
RUN TOWARDS THE LIGHT
It's better than dying
Daniel, never stop trying
King's fruit fed the poor ones when Daniel was a squire
And he could outrun the king's army like he could outrun a fire
So he waited, with his ignition primed to light
The champion of vertigo, the defender of what's right
Feet pound like thunder and tribute is paid
No signs of fear in his steel icy gaze
Finding his target his heart cries out
RUN TOWARDS THE LIGHT
Then came the quiet days, our hero caught and ashamed
Daniel's locked in prison, will he ever see the sun?
But the fire in his heart! Some still say it broke the bars
They'll never know how he got free but he was free as the stars!
Daniel the thief, hands full of gold
He tore through the city bringing gifts for the poor
Feet pounding pavement he tears through the town
Awe and amazement were felt by the crowd
Saving his strength now for one final
RUN TOWARDS THE LIGHT
You know you are our hero
RUN TOWARDS THE LIGHT

Comin' Home
04:37
|
|||
Somebody said my name like it was a tribute
A memory that passed, gone but not forgotten
It stings to see the sun again, the darkness lasted forever
It covered up my sins, but somebody remembers
No more looking back my head's on straight, I'm comin' home
Mind's made up can't shake this now I'm bound, I'm comin' home
Maybe it was a sign, somehow this one feels different
I'll never know the truth, never ask for forgiveness
I wish I could wake up a thousand miles away, lying in your arms
We'd reconnect like thunder
No more looking back my head's on straight, I'm comin' home
Past mistakes be damned I'm moving on, I'm comin' home
You can't break my spirit, I ain't gonna hear it,
each one gets his choice I'm making mine, no more to roam

Feed the Worms
04:55
|
|||
Can't get no god damn worse off anyhow
You sit there staring through your glass (Hey man!)
While I'm talking to you!
So sick and tired of your selfish act
I tried to save your skin but you still lost the nerve
You're not even good enough for me to pity
You ain't ever gonna catch me crying
Death comes to those who call and you sing just like a bird
Time fights against your bitter taste
Your body will feed the worms
You drink, you smoke, you pop, you fry your brain
I really don't care what you do or say, keep wasting away
So this is our new deal no sympathy
I tried to save your neck but you still took the axe
You are worthless now a loser fading fast
Would you just die for me, is that too much to ask?
Death comes to those who call and you sing just like a bird
Time fights against your bitter taste
Your body will feed...
I asked you a question, it's still echoing
Feel the answer emerge, emergency
You're a pest a god damned possibility
Feel the answer emerge, emergency
Wet fingers on the stove you can't smell the smoke
Coat open in the snow you can't feel the cold
Lighting in a bottle drink it down
Eyes closed mind froze, turn yourself around
Remember how to live don't decide to die
If nothing more pound down the door
The memories rush out through your pores
C'mon, c'mon, come on and tell me...
You pathetically perfect failure of a man
Do you hear what I say? Do you give a damn?
Death comes to those who call and you sing just like a bird
Time fights against your bitter taste
Buried deep beneath the waste
Your body will feed the worms

Fight for Fate
04:13
|
|||
My father was a baker man and early did we rise
Bread was broken, whispers spoken, around the fire danced the light
We called to the lazy sun, you won't tell me when to wake
I've been working for hours already while you've been on a break
Look down here you vicious sun, I will work until I bleed
But still I feel those pounding truths I choose not to believe
My friends family and lovers thought we all had a chance
Still it was true, with the hours we knew and chose to
dream about the unbelievable
Tonight is the night said the victim to the bite:
Finish me here, but not from fear. I'll face my fate without a fight
When the evil's over and the damage done all that's left is just the past
And memories that burned like fire have turned us all to ash
So curse the rich and save the poor
Save them, what? What a hopeless chore
Do you believe in the road ahead and do you think it has an end?
My friends family and lovers thought we all had a chance
Still it was true, with the hours we knew and chose to
dream about the unbelievable
If fate is a lonely weaver who paints with circumstance,
Why do we sing about beautiful things? Are we still stuck where we began?

Box Full of Letters
05:47
|
|||
I know your voice, you know my song
Just hear the words, you can help me sing along
Like dreamer's who'd run from the keepers of time
We huddled close in this fight
Full of fire and wine
Full of fire and wine, you looked divine
We were young fools, wild, aching
Tired of all this waiting
Built to bring down these walls
We were brave, bold, knew we were better
I'm caught in this box full of letters
I see you like this is a dream
You shield your eyes and I cover your face
There's warmth in your hands and emotions to place
A lover to chase
Your beautiful memory I cannot erase
Your smile breaks the ice like a ship breaks the sea
Like knocking on your door, 'round a quarter to three
We'd both sing along
That same old song
We were young fools, wild, aching
Tired of all this waiting
Built to bring down these walls
We were brave, bold, knew we were better
I'm caught in this box full of letters
I see you like this is a dream
Mine is the melody
You are the memory
We wrote sweet poetry
Your words turning over
Poor, beat, hearts burning
Sore, late, lost and learning
Still I know your voice
I know your voice, you know my song
When you knew the words, you always used to sing along
Like dreamers who'd run from the keepers of time
We huddled close in this fight
Full of fire and wine
Full of fire and wine
Mine is the melody
You are the memory
We wrote sweet poetry
Your words turning over
On faster now we run
Into the setting sun
When we'd only just begun
How could this be over?
Poor, beat, hearts burning
Sore, late, lost and learning
Still I know your voice

Alaska
05:54
|
|||
First step, Into the North
How long will this road venture on?
Footsteps fade, beneath southern snow
Carry me away from my home
The woods, they seem to move,
Full of life inside the cold
So I breathe it in
Watch the earth begin to spin.
The snow falls light
And it whispers in my mind
Just Find yourself
Loose track of time
Just drift away
Drift away
Snow capped Mountains
Stand alone
This day is strong,
and beckons me carry on
Water runs near
My thoughts become clear
Everything you need
Everything is here
The river, bends to the north
Teaming with every shade of white
So I drink it in
Feel my mind begin to swim
In Alaska on my own
Freedom is a river
In the caverns of time
Your body is a raft
Let go of the line
And drift away
Drift away
Words fill my head
Well what are words?
Out here alone
So I let them go,
Watch them dance away
Drift between the flakes of snow, feel the cold
Celebrate the road
Now this path that I have chosen
Is now the path I Own
It's the best damn thing, that I ever was
So no more calling out for home
I am lost
But I am found
Freedom turned my life around
So I feed the change
Slowly watch the sunlight fade
Meet me at the dawn

Beach Baby Babylon
04:59
|
|||
I remember the first beach,
I will always remember
We decided to settle there,
I think was late September
That winter was bonfires in the beach late into the dawn
And when the fire went out,
It was time to walk home
But when the summer came we were almost never inside
I remember the sunlight, and the waves of joy in your eyes
Good god! My Beach baby Babylon
The road we traveled down, couldn't last for long
Love could never be as easy as, you use to make it look
I thank you for the time we had, you were always the best chapter in my book
I would wake up to hear your sandal,
knocking against the bedroom door
The sound of your feet as they dragged sand
Across my hardwood floors.
Then I would smell those crazy meals, you used to cook
Weather it was omelettes with a glass of wine or pancakes with a smoke
Moonlit Walks upon the beach, you knew it would have to end,
Still I told you I'd always love you and I swear I always have
Good god! My Beach baby Babylon
The road we wandered down, couldn't last for long
Love could never be as easy as, you use to make it look
I thank you for the time we had, you were greatest chapter in my book
Never let another man say he had you in your prime
Because I know that were at your best when I could call you mine
We use to Hear the ocean roar, as we made love beneath the moon
I miss you like the summer warmth, more than the month of June
Now I cannot smile, as the sun-sets below the mist
That violet sky reminds me only of our last kiss
Good god! My Beach baby Babylon
The road we traveled down, couldn't last for long
Love could never be as easy as, you use to make it look
I thank you for the time we shared, you’re still the greatest chapter in my book

Newly Minted Magistrate
03:44
|
|||
Softest silk robe
Milk white gloves
Emerald Green eyes
Humble virgin judge
The throne of Olympus
Sits at your hands
The souls of men
Await your command
Let them come in now
The swirl and the rush
Will he make it through
Or will the pressure be too much
He is king now
And precious is time
Handing down the lectures
and taxes and fines
Beginning to your end
Life as the law
Bite behind your every word
The plaintiffs stand and fall
Newly minted magistrate
Renew the clean, make it great
Will you close the book on life?
What unfolds behind those silent eyes?
You must separate life from love
Not everyone is ready to judge
At the end of the day,
Throw your gavel in your cubby
Swallow all your doubts
And pour a drink in the study
The power, the success.
The silk and the throne
You take it on yourself
Behind your verdict, you stand alone
You stand Alone, you stand alone, alone
Newly minted magistrate
Renew the clean, make it great
Will you close the book on life?
What unfolds behind those silent eyes?
You must separate life from love
Not everyone is ready to judge
Oh what a shame, and what a good life he had
Never again will he feel the rain
He must be broken for being bad
(BAD)
Broken (Broken) Broken for bad
Newly minted magistrate
Renew the clean, make it great
Will you close the book on life?
What unfolds behind silent eyes
Will you separate life from love
Not everyone is ready to judge
Stare out the window at the sky
Who should to judge the ones who judge the ones who sentence men to die
The throne of Olympus is at your command
Sword of justice sits firm in your hands
